State Utilization
The Pennhurst staff will team with you to develop your statewide
utilization system, including defining processes for prior
authorization, client assessment and the periodic review for
developmental disability agency services and mental health
services provided to clients of the state Medicaid Programs.
This teaming will be accomplished in an environment of
collaboration and consultation with your key stakeholders,
executive staff, middle management, line staff and others to
ensure consistency with the legislative intent.
Our staff will
undertake certain key tasks including:
- Identification of the client population and program goals and
objectives
- Development of criteria to be used in service authorization,
including specification of the processes and tools
- Establishment of a data-based "registration" system that will
allow for input or development of defined levels and types of
authorized specific services for defined recipients.
- Propose solutions to utilization problems identified through
this analysis
- Development of a quality assurance plan.
Pennhurst can also provide Statewide Training Programs and has
various available training modules that can be modified to meet
specific State or Agency requirements.
